Tezaab, directed by N. Chandra, was released on November 11, 1988. The movie starred Anil Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit in lead roles. While Chunkey Pandey, Anupam Kher and Suresh Oberoi also played significant roles in the film. The music of the film was given by Laxmikant-Pyarelal. The Movie was actually inspired by the 1984 film Streets of Fire. The music as well as the movie was appreciated by the audience and became a huge hit at box office.

The story of the movie revolves around Munna aka Mahesh ( Anil Kapoor ), who becomes a street mawali due to some bad incidents, and Mohini ( Madhuri Dixit ), who is a dancer by profession. One day a gangster named Lotia pathan ( Kiran Kumar ) kidnaps Mohini. How Munna frees Mohini from the clutches of Lotia Pathan is the rest of the story. Madhuri’s crowd pleasing dance act in the hit song Ek do teen is still fresh in audeince minds.
