Udit Narayan got his first break as a playback singer in the movie Unees Bees after staring his career by rendering some folk songs for Radio Nepal. Though the song he sung in the movie not actually got noticed by people but his dream of singing with Mohammed Rafi got fullfilled with that film.

His career’s first success came in the form of Qyamat Se Qyamat Tak. Infact he grabbed the Best Male Playback Singer Filmfare Award for crooning the melodious songs of that movie. And after singing more hit songs for the movies like Dil and Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar, he became one of the leading playback singer of bollywood industry.

He faced tough competion from Kumar Sanu in the mid of 90’s who won five back to back Fimfare Awards for Best Male Playback Singer. But once again he made a comeback with ‘Mehndi laga ke rakhna’ from Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jaayenge. And then with superhit Pardesi pardesi of Raja Hindustani.

And now his son, Aditya Narayan is also planning to establish himself in the field of playback singing. Aditya did some bollywood films including superhit Jab Pyar Kisi Se Hota Hai in his childhood.
