Abhishek Bachchan was born on 5 February 1976 in the reputed Bachchan family. He is the son of famous bollywood actors Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan. His grandfather Harivansh Rai Bachchan was a well-known poet of Urdu and Hindi literature. Abhishek completed his education at Boston University, US.

Abhishek made his bollywood debut with J.P. Dutta’s Refugee opposite another newcomer Kareena Kapoor in the year 2000. The movie was proved out be a disaster at box office. He gave many flop films such as Dhai Akshar Prem Ke, Tera Jadoo Chal Gaya, Bas Itna Sa Khwaab Hai, Shararat etc in the span of next four years. But Mani Ratnam’s Yuva changed the whole scenerio for him and he was praised by audience as well as by critics for his excellent performance in the role of a ‘Lallan’ in the film.

He also starred in Aditya Chopra’s Dhoom same year alongwith John Abraham and Uday Chopra. The movie proved out to be his first major hit in bollywood. After that he gave four back to back hit films in the form of Bunty Aur Babli, Sarkar, Dus and Bluffmaster. He also won his second Filmfare Award in the Best Supporting Actor category for Sarkar.

His next movie Karan Johar’s Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna was turned out to be another nightmare for him. Shahrukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Preity Zinta and Rani Mukherjee were also the important part of the film. Movie did well in overseas but failed to impress india audience a bit. His very next film Umrao Jaan with Aishwarya Rai also failed to do well at the box office. But later with the films like Dhoom-2, Guru and Jhoom Barabar Jhoom, he made a strong comeback in bollywood. He also got married to Aishwarya Rai last eyar after having an affair with her for almost more than one year.
