Ayesha Takia was born on April 10, 1985 in Mumbai, India. She did her schooling from St. Anthony’s High School. She started to work in TV commercials when she turned sixteen. She was also seen in Falghuni Pathak’s Meri Chunar Udd Udd Jaaye. After appearing in hit music video Shake It daddy, she was offered her first bollywood film Socha Na Tha opposite Abhay Deol.

But due to delay in the making of the film, her second film Taarzan: The Wonder Car was released first in year 2004. She was liked by audience and won her First Filmfare Best Debut Actress Award for the film. After that she appeared in a number of films such as Dil Maange More etc. But none of the film did well at the box office.

Later in the year 2006, she did an offbeat film in the form of Dor and her performance in the role of a young widowed Rajasthani woman was highly praised by audiences. She went on to win several awards for her performance in the film Dor. But her last two films, No Smoking opposite John Abraham and Sunday opposite Ajay Devgan failed to do well at the box office. She will be seen in forthecoming movie De Taali alongwith Ritesh Deshmukh and Aftab Shivdasani.
