Govind Arun Ahuja, popularly known as Govinda was born on December 21, 1963 in Mumbai, India. He is the youngest of six children. He is a graduate in Commerce. His english wasn’t that good at all. His father suggested him to make his career in films. Govinda’s dancing skills gained him widespread attention among Indian audiences. Govinda is also referred to as Chi-Chi. He is also a member of the India National Congress Party and currently serving as the 5th Member of Parliament for the Mumbai North Constituency of Maharashtra, India.

His first film Ilzaam was a box office success. He was starred opposite Neelam in the film. Then he was often paired opposite Neelam in many hit movies such as Love 86, Khudgarz etc. His next hit movie came in the form of Hatya, which was directed by his brother Kirti Kumar. He was also seen alongwith Amitabh Bachchan in the superhit movie Hum.

Govinda did many successful films with David Dhawan. His first film with Dhawan was 1989 released action flick Taaqatwar. He gave many hit films under the direction of David in the form of Raja Babu, Coolie No. 1, Saajan Chale Sasural, Hero No. 1, Haseena Maan Jaayegi, Jodi No. 1 etc. He also portrayed a negative caharacter for the first time in Shikari. During his bad days when people were speculating about the end of his career, he made a strong comeback with the movies such as Bhagam Bhag and Partner. He is currently waiting for the release of his next film titled Money Hai To Honey Hai.
