Bollywood veteran actor, Naseeruddin Shah, was born on July 20, 1950. He completed his graduation in BA from Aligarh Muslim University. He began his acting career in the year 1975 with Shyam Benegal’s Nishant. But the role of a bilnd amn played by him in 1979 released Sparsh established him as a brillinat actor. He infact won the National Film Award for Best Actor for his excellent portaryal of the character in the movie.

He kept on doing many art films including Ardh Satya, Bhumika, Mirch Masala, Chakra etc. He tried his hands in comedy also with 1982 comic caper Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron. There after he also became active in mainstream movies and did his first commercial film Hum Paanch. He established himself in mainstream cinema too with the blockbuster hit Karma. He also did some movies as a lead hero such as Jalwa, Hero Hiralal etc. He acted in several multistarrer films such as Tridev, Vishwatma etc.

He also played the role of a deadly villian in films like Mohra, Sarfarosh and most recently in Krrish. He also made his directorial debut with the movie, Yun Hota To Kya Hota, which totally failed to do well at the box office. He was last seen playing a cameo role in Mere Baap Pehle Aap.
