Salman Khan made his acting debut with the film Biwi Ho To Aisi which starred Farooq Sheik and Rekha in lead roles. But his first solo film was Sooraj R. Barjatya’s romantic film Maine Pyaar Kiya which was proved out to be a blockbuster hit at box office. He won his first Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut category for that film. After that he gave four successfull back to back in the form of Baaghi, Pathar Ke Phool, Sanam Bewafa and Saajan. But after these successful film, he also gave many flop films in a row.

In year 1994, he banged with another hit Hum Aapke Hain Kaun opposite Madhuri Dixit. He once again won the Best Actor Filmfare award for his brilliant performance in the film. He was also seen with Aamir Khan in the comic caper Andaz Apna Apna. In year 1995, he gave another hit in the form of Rakesh Roshan’s Karan Arjun in which his co star was none other than Shahrukh Khan. But this time for a change, Shahrukh won the Filmfare Best Actor award inspite of him.

He did films like Khamoshi- The Musical, Jeet, Judwaa, Auzaar and Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya. But the turning point of his career was the film Jab Pyaar Kisi Se Hota Hai. This particular film established him as a commanding actor of bollywood. He did some supportive roles in the films like Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and Hum Saath Saath Hain, which went against his reputation. He did some movies like Biwi No. 1, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Har Dil Jo Pyaar Karega and Chori Chori Chupke Chupke in the mean time.

And in year 2003 he once again made a solid comeback with Tere Naam. After that he turned towards comedy films and did Mujhse Shaadi Karogi and No Entry. His last released movie Partner with Govinda also did well at the box office.
