Daler Mehndi was born on August 18, 1967 in Patiala, Punjab. He began singing at age of just six. He started his career as a pop singer but moved towards Playback singing after some time. Though he is a trained classical singer but his first album Bolo Ta Ra Ra was infact a pop album. His first album was appreciated a lot by audience and became a huge hit in Indian market.

The success of his second and third album i.e. Dar di rab rab kardi and Ho jayegi balle balle earned him consecutive Channel V’s Best Male Pop Singer Award in 1996 and 1997. Besides the hard earned success, Daler also had some bitter taste in his life. He was acuused of being involved in bringing illegal immigrants to Canada ( Kabutarbazi). But later it was stated that Daler was inncocent. He also sang a duet ‘ Na na na re na re na re’ with bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan in the movie Mrityudata.
