Bollywood movie, Aanch, directed by Rajesh Kumar and written by Kamal Pandey was released on September 26, 2003. The movie starred Nana Patekar and Sharbani Mukherjee in lead roles while Vishwajeet Pradhan, Ayesha Jhulka, Rakhi Sawant, Arun Bakshi, Nirmal Pandey, Raghuveer yadav, Paresh Rawal, Poonam Jhawer and Akhilendra Mishra also played significant characters in the film. The melodious music of the movie was directed by the well knwon music director nduo Sanjeev Darshan while the songs were rendered by Kumar Sanu, Udit Narayan, Sonu Nigam, Alka Yagnik, Mahalakshmi etc.

Vidya ( Sharbani Mukherjee ) belongs to a middle class family which consists of her father named Shambhu ( Arun Bakshi ), a married elder brother, Shiva and his wife, Lata ( Poonam Jhawer ). Vidya is studying in a college and returns to her home to get married with a guy of her family wish. On the wedding day, a guy named Mahadev Thaur ( Nana Patekar ), who is the Mukhiya of the town from which groom belongs, gets angered to the item performed by a dancers. Angered Mahadev asks Shiva to wipe the sindoor from Vidya’s forehead.

He wants Vidya to live the life of a widow until and unless he avenges the humiliation. vidya then decides to return to her college inder to continue her studies. But problem arises when a guy named Diwakar ( Suchindra Bali ), who also studies in the same college starts showing interest in Vidya. Vidya gets frightened with this and decides to retunr to her hometown. But Diwakar is determined to get her and therefore aslo follows her to her hometown. What to happen next?
