David Dhawan directed Aankhen was released on 9 April 1993. Govinda and Chunky Pandey played the lead roles in the movie. Raageshwari, Shilpa Shirodkar and Ritu Shivpuri played the female lead in the movie. The other actors who did significant role in the film are Kader Khan, Raj Babbar, Shakti Kapoor and Gulshan Grover. And the superhit music of the movie was given by none other than Bappi Lahiri.

The movie starts with a gangster Tejashwar ( Shakti Kapoor ), who has taken a huge amount of money from a person for freeing his brother Natwar Shah ( Gulshan Grover ) from the tight security prison. Tejashwar makes a plan to replace chief minister with one of his hitman who looks alike to minister. On the other hand, a rich person named Hansmukh Rai ( Kader Khan ) is a helpless father of Munnu ( Chunky Pandey ) and Bunnu ( Govinda ), who are always ready to play pranks on others.

Due to some misunderstanding and bad incidents, Bunnu and Munnu unwillingly gets involved in Tejashwars plan. After that Bunnu disappears and presumed to be dead. Meanwhile Bunnu’s identical cousin Gauri Shankar arrives in the town. And that leads to a serious of misunderstanding which gets resolved after the arrival of real Bunnu. In the end both Munnu and Bunnu gets succeed in saving Cheif Minister from the wrong and crule intentions of Tejashwar.
