The suspense thriller Aar Ya Paar was released on January 31, 1997. The movie was directed and produced by Ketan Mehta. The major roles in the movie were played by Jackie Shroff, Ritu Shivpuri, Deepa Sahi and Kamal Sidhu while the roles of Paresh Rawal and Satish Shah were also important. The music of the film was directed by Viju Shah and the songs were sung by Jolly Mukherjee, Sudesh Bhosle, Hema Sardesai, Babul Supriyo, Asha Bhosle, Kavita Krishnamurthy, Shankar Mahadevan and Udit Narayan.

Though the movie Aar Ya Paar was suspense thriller but it failed to impress to the audience with its story. The movie was also referred to as one of the biggest failure of the year 1997. The movie was directed by Ketan Mehta, a renowned director, who was unable to impress with his skills at commercial cinema while he was impressive at his parallel cinema. His previous film included Maya Memsaab, Hero Hiralal and Oh Darling Yeh Hai India, which provided sufficient entertainment to the audience.

The story of the movie revolves around a small con man Shekhar Ghosla  ( Jackie Shroff ), who wanted to impress a hot girl Kamal Sidhu ( Veena Sanghvi ) and also because she was rich and influential. Their marriage didn’t go much further as both the people had dominant nature. He soon fell in love with his wife’s secretary Annu Chauhan ( Deepa Sahi ). Both plans to kill his wife and inherit her property and money but Shekhar wasn’t aware that he was being cheated by Annu. The role of Kamal in the film was quite boring.
