Bollywood romantic action comedy movie, Bachpan, directed by Kotavya Pratyagatma was released in the year 1970. The movie starred Sanjeev Kumar and Tanuja in lead roles while Anwar Hussain, Aruna Irani, Sulochana Chatterjee, Keshto Mukherjee, Master Shahid, Joginder Shelly, Mukri, Tabassum and Mehmood Jr. also played significant characters in the film. The melodious music of the movie was composed by none other than the famous music director duo Laxmikant Pyarelal while the songs were rendered by Kishore Kumar, Mohammed Rafi, Lata Mangeshkar etc.

Kashiram ( Sanjeev Kumar ) is living a poor lifestyle alongwith his wife named Chanda and two children. His son name is Suraj ( Alankar Joshi ) and daughter name is Meera ( Baby Guddi ). Kashiram makes his living by selling his handmade toys. Unfortunately, his father-in-law falls ill and his wife decides to go there alongwith the two children. But destiny strikes hard and Chanda gets drawn in the water alongwith the children. kashiram get davastated with this news and becomes an alcoholic. Then four kids, Ram ( Sachin ), Rahim ( Mehmood Jr. ), Tom ( Master Shahid ) and Rani ( Baby Gayathri ), who are quite attached to Kashiram decides to make him happy once again.

They decides that to make Kashiram happy again, they will have to get him arraied with someone. They selects village’s flower selling girl Lajwanti ( Tanuja ) for him. Kashiram learns about this and get shocked. He comes close to Lajwanti when he rescues her from being molested by Kundan ( Joginder Shelly ). But before their relationship could start, Kashiram is arrested by police in the charge of murdering Kundan. What will happen now?
