Bollywood action movie, Bhai, directed by Deepak Shivdasani and written by Kadar Khan was released in the year 1997. The movie starred Sunil Shetty and Pooja Batra in lead roles while Ashish Vidhyarthi, Sonali Bendre, Ishrat Ali, Mushtaq Khan, Rajendra gupta, Shakti Kapoor, Mohan Joshi, Om Puri, Kadar Khan and Kunal Khemu also played important roles in the film. The hit music of the movie was directed by the well known music director duo Anand Milind while the songs were rendered by Udit Narayan, Kumar Sanu and Alka Yagnik.

The movie starts with a simple minded guy named Kundan ( Sunil Shetty ), who arrives in the city alongwith his younger brother named Krishna ( Kunal Khemu ). Kundan’s only dream is to make his brother an educated person. He is helped by a beautiful girl named Pooja ( Pooja Batra ) in admitting his brother in a good school. They then get a room to live in the same communtiy where Pooja resides. The place is terrorized by a gangster named David ( Ashish Vidhyarthi ). But Kundan’s life gets changed when his brother, Krishna is killed by the goons of David for no reason.

Kundan gets enraged with this and ends up killing David and his goons. Kundan is then praised by all and he attains the position of a gangster with a good heart. Kundan then get married to Pooja. Few months later, Pooja gives birth to a child. Pooja now wants Kundan to leave this job as she does not want her child to be a gangster like him. But Kundan refuse to listen her as it is not possible for him now to leave the crime world.
