The social movie Billu Barber is currently under production and will be releasing on February 13, 2009. The movie is being directed by Priyadarshan and produced by Gauri Khan. The significant roles in the movie are being played by Shahrukh Khan, Lara Dutta, Irrfan Khan and Asrani while there are several special appearances by Kareena Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone. Music of the film is directed by Pritam Chakraborty and the songs are sung by Sukhwinder Singh, Neeraj Shridhar, Rana Mazumder, Sunidhi Chauhan, Tulsi Kumar and K K.

Billu Barber is a movie that reminds us of the Krishna and Sudama story. The story of the movie revolves around a village barber and his childhood friend, a superstar. The movie is a simple story of simple and ordinary man who is living an extraordinary life. The movie is a story set in today’s modern life. Bilas Rao Pardesi aka Billu Barber ( Irrfan Khan ) lived with his beautiful wife Bindiya ( Lara Dutta ) in a village with their two great kids. They lived a simple and sweet life but not for long.

Billu’s business was running low as he was not able to upgrade himself according to the changing trends of the today’s world. Their life changes when a superstar Sahir Khan ( Shahrukh Khan ) visits their village. Everything changes then as a film unit visits their village to shoot for a film. Sahir Khan is also Billu’s old school friend. Now this is the moment when Billu’s ;ife changes. Suddenly he becomes the highly respected man in the village. But Billu fears that he is unable to match the status of his superstar friend.
