Chor Machaye Shor was a romantic comedy released on August 30, 2002. The movie was directed by David Dhawan and produced by Rajiv Tolani. The main roles in the movie were played by Bobby Deol, Bipasha Basu, Shilpa Shetty and Om Puri while the supporting roles were played by Shekhar Suman, Rajpal Yadav and Rajat Bedi. The music of the film was directed by Anu Malik and the songs were sung by Sonu Nigam, Anuradha Sriram, Adnan Sami, Sunidhi Chauhan and Vinod Rathod.

The movie Chor Machaye Shor, directed by David Dhawan, was a comedy film inspired by the Hollywood’s famous movie Blue Streak. The movies directed by David Dhawan are void of any logic but are filled of slapstick jokes and this movie is no different from them. The story of the movie is about a small thief Sham ( Bobby Deol ) who is escaping from the cops as he got his hands on a thrirty crore worth diamond. Due to fear of getting caught, he hides the diamond in an under construction building.

The police was successful in catching him and arrest him. On getting released from the jail after the two years of imprisonment, he first goes to the building where he hid his diamond. To his shock, the building has been constructed into a police station. To have his diamond back he gets into the police station as Inspector Ram. There he comes across inspector Ranjita ( Bipasha Basu ) who falls in love with him without realizing that he is a thief. To gat his diamond he was required to fool ACP Ranbir Singh ( Paresh Rawal ) and ever suspicious Inspector Pande ( Om Puri ).
