Bollywood movie, Dhoop, directed by Ashwini Chaudhary and writtn by Kumud Chaudhary was released in the year 2003. The movie starred Om Puri and Gul Panag in lead roles while Revathi, Murli Sharma, Yashpal Sharma, Ashutosh Jha, Veerendra saxena, Richa Nayyar, Gopi Desai and Sanjay Suri also played important characters in the film. The melodious music of the movie was directed by the well known music director Lalit Sen while the songs were rendered by Jagjit Singh etc.

The movie starts with a old couple, Professor Suresh Kapoor ( Om Puri ) and his beloved wife, Sarita Kapoor ( Revathi ). Their only son, Rohit ( Sanjay Suri ) is Captain in Indian Army. Rohit is in love with a beautiful girl named Peehu Verma ( Gul Panag ) and wants to get married with her. Suresh and Sarita are knwon to the love relationship between Rohit and Peehu. But their life get upturned when Suresh recieves the news that Rohit has been killed in Kargil. They receives condolence from army officials and politicians.

Peehu get shattered by the news of Rohit’s death and decides never to get married. They are then offered a plot of land by Army so that they can open a petrol pump there for making a living from it. Suresh and Sarita decides to name it ‘ Kargil Heights ‘ and starts arranging the required documents to get it running. But it is then only they reveals about the corrupt system in which they are living.
