The romantic movie Dil Ne Jise Apna Kahaa was released on September 10, 2004 under the banners of Orion Pictures, MAD Entertainment Ltd and Reel Life Entertainment Pvt Ltd. The movie was directed by Atul Agnihotri and produced by Mukesh Talreja. The lead roles were played by Salman Khan, Bhumika Chawla, Preity Zinta and Helen while the roles of Rati Agnihotri and Renuka Shahane were equally important. The music of the film was directed by A R Rahman and the songs were sung by Kamal Khan, Alka Yagnik, Sujata Trivedi, Sonu Nigam and Udit Narayan.

Dil Ne Jise Apna Kahaa is produced by the same team members of actors, producers, musicians and lyricists that produced the hit movie “Tere Naam”. It was the debut movie for Salman Khan’s brother-in-law Atul Agnihotri not as an actor but as a director. The story of the movie is about two people Rishabh ( Salman Khan ) and Pari ( Preity Zinta ). While Rishabh is a partner in an upcoming media, Pari is a doctor. It was their choice and has worked hard to achieve their dreams and to be what they are today.

When everything was all fine a harsh role was played by their destiny. Pari met a deadly accident and loses her life. Rishabh was shattered and all alone. But he managed to escape depression as he knew he is now supposed to fulfill her dream which was to build a charitable hospital for the poor. He come across Dhani ( Bhumika Chawla ) who had seen several tough situations in her life. She wants to enjoy every second of the life and even her smallest joy. Rishabh feels that life has given him another chance to restore what was missing.
