Mithun Chakraborthy and Meenakshi Sheshadri starrer romantic action thriller Dilwaala was released on February 7, 1986. The movie was directed by K. Murlimohana Rao and written by Kadar Khan. the other starcast of the movie includes Smita Patil, Asrani, Arun Govil, Gulshan Grover, Raza Murad, Shakti Kapoor, Aruna Irani, Kadar Khan, Goga Kapoor, Sarika, Pran and Suresh Oberoi in significant roles. The meledious music of the movie was composed by the well known music director Bappi Lahiri while the songs were rendered by Kishore Kumar, Asha Bhonsle, Bappi Lahiri etc.

Ravi Kumar ( Mithun Chakroborthy ) lives apart from his elder sister, Sumitra Devi ( Smita Patil ), who is a judge by profession. Ravi has some different point of views from Sumitra and that keeps them away from each other. Mohan Kumar ( Arun Govil ), elder brother of Ravi wants to keep the whole family intact but Ravi and Sumitra’s war of words does not allow him to do so. Ravi then learns that Raghu ( Gulshan Grover ) has killed his wife and now trying to save himself by proving the murder just an accident.

MLA Raj Shekhar ( Pran ), father of Raghu is also using his influence in proving Raghu innocent in the court. Ravi reveals that Raj Shekhar forced Raghu to marry poor Kamla ( Supriya Pathak ) to gain sympathy of people. Now Ravi decides to prove Raj Shekhar and Raghu responsible for Kamla’s murder. But once again he fails to get help from his elder sister as this time too she has some other opinions.
