The social drama Ek Ruka Hua Faisla was released in the year of 1986. The movie was directed as well as produced by Basu Chatterjee. The major roles in the movie were enacted by Pankaj Kapoor, Anu Kapoor, K K Raina and M K Raina while the supporting roles were enacted by Deepak Qazir, S. M. Zaheer, Subbiraj, Amitabh Bachchan and Amit Srivastava. The music of the film was directed by Laxmikant Kudalkar and Pyarelal while the songs were sung by S.P.Balasubramaniam and Suwankar Janki.

The movie starts with twelve jury members gathering in an enclosed room to judge and decide upon a case of a young man who has been accused with a charge of killing his loving father. There were not many evidences of the same but he was required to be punished for sure.

All the judges were almost convinced that he was the culprit except for one judge who thought there is some twist in the story. But to arrive at a decision the all the judges need to be convinced. Thus all the judges started convincing the remaining judge for the verdict of the man and his guilt. Now the movie was the story how the judges started convincing the other judge and the problems they faced with that.
