Family - Ties of Blood was a social movie released on January 12, 2006 under the banners of A B Corp and DMS Films Pvt Ltd. The movie has been directed by Rajkumar Santoshi and produced by Keshu Ramsay. The significant roles were enacted by Amitabh Bachchan, Aryeman, Akshay Kumar and Bhumika Chawla whereas the roles of Kader Khan, Shernaz Patel and Gulshan Grover were equally significant. Music of the film was directed by Ram Sampat and the songs were sung by Arnab Chakravorty, Madhushree, Sowmya Roah and Suhail Kaul.

Rajkumar Santoshi had been busy producing family movies like this and this film displays the stories of two families and how one influences the other. Viren Sahai ( Amitabh Bachchan ) is a pitiless man who has seen the dark side of the life. He can hurt and kill anyone who tries to threaten his family. Shekhar Bhatia ( Akshay Kumar ) is a simple and hard working man with his life full of fun and laughter. Aryan ( Aryeman ) is the younger brother of Shekhar and is a fun loving guy. Bhumika ( Bhoomika Chawla ), a dedicated girl who believes that love is the prime ingredient for setting up a family.

The story of the movie is about two families one of Viren Sahi and other of Shekhar Bhatia, both different from each other. Though Shekhar had nothing much in his life but his one investment paid off well that is his family. The love that his family gave to Aryan made him able to withstand the power of a gangster. Sharda ( Shernaaz Patel ), wife of Viren Sahi, feared that her family may have to pay for all the wrong deeds of her husband. Bhumika realizes that she has to fight herself to prevent her family from breakdown.
