Bollywood action thriller, Faraar, directed by Shankar Mukherjee and written by Madhusudan Kalekar was released on November 11, 1975. The movie starred Amitabh Bachchan and Sharmila Tagore in lead roles while Sanjeev Kumar, Jayshree T. Anupama, Sulochana Latkar, Rajan Haksar and Brahm Bhardwaj also played important characters in the film. The hit evrgreen music of the movie was directed by the veteran music director duo Kalyanji-Anandji while the songs were sung by Kishore Kumar, Mukesh, Lata Mangeshkar, Usha Mangeshkar, Asha Bhonsle etc.

Rajesh aka Raj ( Amitabh Bachchan ) is an orphan who is living a happy life alongwith his younger sister. Rajesh is in love with a beautiful girl named Mala ( Sharmila Tagore ) and is planning to get marrid with her soon. He is looking for a suitable match for his sister. But his life gets upturned when his sister is brutally raped and then killed by someone. Police fails to locate that killer and therefore Rajesh decides to search the killer on his own. He manage to find him and ends up killing him. Now Rajesh is on a run from law.

Rajesh forcibly enters in a home for saving himself from the police. He abducts the child in the house. But he get shocked to learn that the house in which he has enetered actually belongs to his beloved, Mala, who is now married to a police inspector named Rajesh ( Sanjeev Kumar ). But he does not want to get arrested by police and therefore decides to stay in the house for the time being.
