Footpath was a social film released on August 15, 2003 under the banners of Tips Music Films and Vishesh Films. The movie was directed by Vikram Bhatt and produced by Mukesh Bhatt. The actors in the significant roles were Aftab Shivdasani, Bipasha Basu, Emraan Hashmi and Rahul Dev while the supporting roles were played by Irrfan Khan and Anupama Varma. Music of the film was directed by Nadeem-Shravan while the songs were sung by Nadeem Saifee, Kumar Sanu, Shravan, Alka Yagnik and Udit Narayan.

The movie Footpath is a dark and strange movie but the director Vikram Bhatt has tried his best to present the story with legitimacy without resorting to the eye-catching and hi-fi cinematography. The dialogues in the movie seem real and go well with the setting of the movie. The movie is about a guy who is first sucked into the world of crime and then has to escape from his very own friends. The movie also features a newcomer Emraan Hashmi. The movie revolves around three friends Arjun ( Aftab Shivdasani ), Raghu ( Emraan Hashmi ) and Shekhar ( Rahul Dev ).

All the three friends have born and brought up in Mumbai and thus have seen the harsh aspects of life. They all are carefree and thus are able to enjoy their lives. The twist in the movie comes when Arjun’s father is murdered. Arjun is also wanted by the Mumbai police and Mafia. Now he remains with no option but to leave Mumbai and take refuge in Delhi. Cops successfully trace him and put him in a mission to betray his childhood friends.
