Bollywood suspense thriller, Gambler, directed by Amarjeet and written by Kaushal Bharti was released in the year 1971. The movie starred Dev Anand and Zaheeda in lead roles while Shatrughan Sinha, Jeevan, Kishore Sahu, Mumtaz Begum, Jagdish Raj, Sachin, Iftekhar, Tabassum and Zaheera also played significant characters in the movie. The music of the film was given by the veteran music director Sachin Dev Burman while the songs were beautifully crooned by Mohammed Rafi, Lata Mangeshkar, Kishore Kumar etc.

Raja ( Dev Anand ) grows up with a criminal named Master ( Jeevan ). Master uses Raja for his illegal activities. Raja is very good at playing cards and winning moeny from the players and his this talent is used by Master for his own benefit. Raja learns about this and decides to work on his own. He quits works with Master. Being a very talented person at playing cards, soon Raja becomes a rich guy. He meets with a beautiful women named Chandra Gangaram ( Zaheeda ) and falls in love with her.

Raja decides to get married with her and Chandra also agrees for this as she is also in love with him. But Chandra’s father wants her to marry another man named Ram Mehta ( Sudhir ). On the otherhand, Master also starts making problem in Raja’s life. This leaves no other option for Raja than to murder master. Raja is arrested by police in the charge of Master’s murder. What will happen next?
