The movie Geetanjali was a social drama released in 1993 under the banner of Shakti Films. The movie was directed and produced by Shakti Samanta. The main roles in the movie were played by Jeetendra , Rekha and Asrani. Other good roles were played by Vijay Arora, Amita Nangia and Dilip Tahil. The music director of the film was Bappi Lahiri while the singers were Kumar Sanu, Alka Yagnik, Asha Bhosle and Kavita Krishnamurthy.

In the movie Sagar Bhardwaj ( Jeetendra ) plays the role of a college professor. He always liked the company of his students and was into exploring more knowledge. He had to go to Ajanta Elora caves for one of his projects and there he also visits his sister, Jaya’s house. They all were happy to see Sagar and they go out to a dance show to enjoy the evening. There he was insisted to get an autograph of Anjali ( Rekha ), the dancer. He succeeds but gets hurt and was hospitalized. In the hospital he meets Anjali’s twin sister Geetha.

Soon both became good friends and were in love with each other. They got married and they were blessed with a beautiful daughter. Geeta receives the shock of her life when she comes to know that Sagar is having an affair with one of his students, Kaveri ( Amita Nangia ). Kaveri traps Sagar by complaining against him to the Principal that Sagar has sexually assaulted him. Sagar was thrown out of the college. Furious Geeta leaves him. Anjali investigates the truth and finds Sagar innocent. She was to tell this to Geeta but she was taken aback to hear that Geeta has been killed in a bomb blast.
