Bollywood yesteryear hit, Guide, starring Dev Anand and Waheeda Rehman in lead roles was released in the year 1965. The movie was written, produced and directed by Vijay Anand. The other starcast of the film incluudes, Anwar Hussain, Leela Chitnis, Kishore Sahu, Mridula Rani, Krishan Dhawan, Prem Sagar, Poornima, Rashid Khan and Gajanan Jagirdar in important roles. The hit melodious music of the film was given by none other than legendary Sachin Dev Burman while the songs were rendered by Kishore Kumar, Mohammed Rafi, Lata Mangeshkar, Manna Dey and Sachin Dev Burman himself.

Young and handsome, Raju ( Dev Anand ) works as a guide. He meets with a beautiful women named Rosy Marco ( Waheeda Rehman ) and get atrracted towards her. Rosy is having a problem with her husband and therefore wants to get separated from him. Rosy is a very good singer and dancer and is willing to make a career in it. Rosy is encouraged by Raju for starting her practice. He also help her in getting rid of her husband. Rosy too falls for Raju and both decides to get married. But Raju wants her to become a famous dancer before they could marry. Raju works very hard for fullfilling Rosy’s desire of making it big in dancing and singing fields.

Soon Rosy becomes a succesfull artist and they also become rich. Raju also starts living a rich lifestyle and becomes angry whenever he is stopped by Rosy. Raju forges a signature of Rosy and is caught by police. He is sentenced to prison for a long period of time. Rosy too decides to kepp a distance from him. After completing his prison time, he decides to go very far from the city. He is not willing to Rosy anymore. He moves into a village where he is mistaken for a saint.
