Hum Tum Pe Marte Hain was a romantic movie released on September 24, 1999. The movie was directed by Nabh Kumar Raju and produced by Cheetah Yagnesh Shetty. The major roles in the movie were played by Govinda, Nirmal Pandey, Urmila Matondkar and Paresh Rawal while the presence of Johny Lever and Himani Shivpuri supported the film. Music of the film was directed by Uttam Singh and the songs were sung by Udit Narayan, Shobha Joshi, Hariharan, Amit Kumar and Lata Mangeshkar.

The movie Hum Tum Pe Marte Hain witnessed the comedy actors Govinda and Urmila in sober roles for which they are not famous for. The story of the movie is about two neighboring families, one headed by Sethji ( Paresh Rawal ) and the other by Devyani ( Dimple Kapadia ). Sethji has a son Rahul ( Govinda ) who has just returned home after completing his studies. Devyani’s sister-in-law Radhika ( Urmila Matondkar ) has also arrived from the village.

Devyani is a widowed business woman who is quite busy and has no time for her family. Sethji had purchased the neighboring plot from her late husband. Devyani had no idea of the deal and thus wanted to build a mall on the land. As usual, Radhika and Rahul also fall in love with each other. Devyani has to leave for a business deal in Mumbai with her partner Dhananjay ( Nirmal Pandey ) who was smitten by Radhika’s beauty. Devyani was also impressed with him and wanted to marry him to Radhika. Rahul’s and Radhika’s friends Sattu ( Johnny lever ) and Champa also fall in love with each other.
