Indian was a patriotic movie released on October 26, 2001 under the banner of Sunny Super Sound. The movie was directed by N Mahajan and produced by Dharmendra. The key roles in the film were played by Sunny Deol, Shilpa Shetty, Raj Babbar and Danny Denzongpa while Mukesh Rishi and Sanjay Narvekar were also there in the film. The music of the film was directed by Anand Raj Anand and the songs were sung by Abhijeet, Sadhana Sargam, Shaan, Alka Yagnik, Roop Kumar Rathod, Sunidhi Chauhan and Richa Sharma.

The movie Indian, written and directed by N. Maharajan is a patriotic saga which is also a remake of the Tamil hit Vallarasu. The message this film gives is that one should never forget his history as it tends to repeat itself. The story of the movie revolves around an honest police commissioner Raj Shekhar Azad ( Sunny Deol ) who is a very patriotic Indian. He solely wanted to eradicate corruption and terrorist forces who risk every Indian’s life. One can determine the patriotism in him from his name.

Though Raj is always ready for his enemies but the greatest threat to India was posed by Waseem Khan ( Mukesh Rishi ), a dreaded terrorist who was helped in his mission to ruin India by Raj’s father-in-law ( Raj Babbar ), a powerful industrialist ( Danny Denzongpa ) and several police officers. Though Raj’s path was full of hurdles but it was his love for his country that encouraged him to raise a war against them. His fight against them would be a good example to every resident of India.
