Hit bollywood romantic flick, Jawani, directed by Ramesh Behl was released on December 14, 1984. The movie starred Karan Shah and Neelam Kothari in lead roles while Moushami Chatterjee, Anupam Kher, Naveen Nishcol, Sadashiv Amrapurkar, Sharmila tagore and Shammi also played important characters in the film. The hit evergreen music of the movie was composed by none other than well knwon veteran music director Rahul Dev Burman while the songs were rendered by Amit Kumar Ganguly, Lata mangeshkar, Asha Bhonsle etc.

The movie starts with a middle class family headed by Surendra Malhotra ( Anupam Kher ). The family comprises of his wife, son, Jatin ( Jatin ) and a beautiful daughter, Suman ( Neelam Kothari ). surendra learns that his plot worths a huge sum of rupees and therefore decides to sell it to a builder. He sells his plot to a builder and gets a huge amountof money in return of it. Now Surendra and his family starts living a wealthy lifestyle. But money also brings arrogance in the family members except Suman.

Suman then meets with a handsome guy named Karan Nath ( Karan Shah ), who belonsg to a middle class family. Soon they both falls in love with each other and decides to get married. Suman tells her family about Karan but they refuse to accept him as their son-in-law. Suman and Karan then runs away from there and get married to each other. Karan now wants to get rich at any coist as he wants to arrange every luxurious thing for Suman.
