Kaante was a thriller movie released on December 20, 2002 under the banner of White Feather Films. The movie was directed and produced by Sanjay Gupta. The main roles in the film were played by Amitabh Bachchan, Sunil Shetty, Sanjay Dutta and Mahesh Manjrekar while the roles of Lucky Ali and Kumar Gaurav were equally important. Music of the movie has been directed by Anand Raj Anand and the songs were sung by Sukhwinder Singh, Lucky Ali, Kavita Krishnamurthy, Zubin, Richa Sharma and Shaan.

Sanjay Gupta’s Kaante was a crime thriller full of Bollywood’s top stars like Amitabh Bachchan, Sunil Shetty and Sanjay Dutta. The movie is inspired from the Hollywood flick “Reservoir Dogs” and is based on the story of the rise and fall of the six bank robbers. The movie starts when the big gangster Major ( Amitabh ) was released from the prison. He was so tired of living behind the bars that he now plans to live big and that too in grand style. So he makes a plan to rob a bank and for that required five more people with him.

Major deicides to take with him Ajju ( Sanjay Dutt ), who has a somewhat experience of robbing the bank, Baali ( Mahesh Manjrekar ), a drug addict, Bouncer ( Sunil Shetty ), Mak ( Lucky Ali ), a relaxed person and Andy ( Kumar Gaurav ) an undercover cop who joined to spy upon their activities. They were supposed to keep their plans in complete secrecy but it was Ajju who leaked their plans to his wife ( Shilpa Shetty ). The twist in the story comes when they all decided to kill each other for the money.
