Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai was a romantic action movie released on January 14, 2000 under the banner of Filmkraft Productions (I) Pvt Ltd. The movie was directed and produced by Rakesh Roshan. The key roles in the movie were played by Hrithik Roshan, Anupam Kher, Amisha Patel and Farida Jalal while the presence of Tanaz Currim and Vrajesh Hirjee supported the film. Music of the film was directed by Rajesh Roshan and the songs were sung by Alka Yagnik, Lucky Ali, Kumar Sanu, Asha Bhosle and Babul Supriyo.

The movie Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai was very important movie to the lead actor Hrithik Roshan, debuting with this film, who happens to be the son of the director Rakesh Roshan. The movie was a huge hit and marked the birth of the superstar. The movie starts with Rohit ( Hritik Roshan ) who plays an orphan guy, living with his younger brother Amit ( Abhishek Sharma ) in a rented room hired from D’Souzas ( Farida Jalal and Satish Shah ). Like every individual, Rohit has a dream to become the famous singer.

One day, Rohit comes across Sonia ( Amisha Patel ) and was smitten by her beauty. What could be better to him? His dream gets a taste of reality when both, who had known each other now, were trapped on an island. Now both love each other and imagine their lives with each other not knowing that Sonia’s father Mr. Saxena ( Anupam Kher ), is a bad man who didn’t like their relationship. The problems to Rohit were posed by two corrupt police officers Shinde ( Ashish Vidyarthi ) and Kadam ( Mohnish Behl ). Rohit gets killed and Sonia meets Raj ( Hrithik in double role ).
