Khamoshi -The Musical was released on August 6,1996. It was a family drama directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and was produced by Sibte Hasan Razvi. The lead roles were played by Salman Khan, Manisha Koirala, Nana Patekar and Seema Biswas. The music was given by Jatin Pandit and Lalit Pandit and the singers were Kumar Sanu, Alka Yagnik, Kavita Krishnamurthy and Udit Narayan. The story of the movie was written by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and was edited by Bela Sehgal.

In the movie Joseph ( Nana Patekar ) and Flavy ( Seema Biswas ) were a deaf and dumb couple. They had a daughter Annie ( Manisha Koirala ) and they were concerned about her being like them. Being a fit child she had to take the responsibility of her parents. Annie had a brother who dies in an accident. Her grandmother Maria ( Helen ) develops her interest in music from childhood. Annie too starts liking the notes of music in her silent life.

Raj ( Salman Khan ) a musician, meets Annie and fells in love with her. He helps her in learning music. Annie had a dream to make her parents feel the sounds of music. She always wanted them to applaud her but it was a challenge for her to do so. The story starts from flashback with Annie meeting an accident. The story of the movie is really touchy with beautiful music and very nice songs. Jatin – Lalit had done excellent work.
