Kya Yehi Pyaar Hai was a romantic movie released on March 22, 2002 under the banner of Tips Music Films. The movie was directed by K Murali Mohan Rao and produced by Ramesh S Taurani. The lead roles were played by actors Jackie Shroff, Amisha Patel, Aftab Shivdasani and Aashish Vidyarthi while the supporting roles were played by Anupama Varma and Neena Kulkarni. Music of the film was directed by Sajid-Wajid while the songs were sung by Babul Supriyo, Kumar Sanu, Sunidhi Chauhan, Iqbal Afzaal Subri and Sonu Nigam.

Kya Yehi Pyaar Hai was a romantic movie but also showcases a noble message to all the youngsters who think that there is nothing beyond love. The romantic story of the movie revolves around Rahul ( Aftab Shivdasani ) who is madly in love with a girl in the same college as he is, Sandhya ( Amisha Patel ). That is why the bus with route no. 16 is so important to Rahul and his friends Iqbal, Peter, Sunder and others, as Sandhya travels by that bus on a daily routine.

Rahul loves Sandhya for more than four years now but what is strange is that she is still unaware of the fact. She is a daughter of Rachna ( Neena Kulkarni ) and an alcoholic inspector Raj Patil ( Ashish Vidyarthi ). Sandhya was beaten by Raj on many occasions but her mother always supported her and taught her to be a good student so that she can get put of her miserable life. She only loved her studies and books while Rahul was obsessed with her. Rahul’s elder brother Dr. Tiwari ( Jackie Shroff ) tried to convince him but Rahul never listened to him.
