The action drama Lal Chunariya was released in the year of 1983. The movie was directed by Sunershan Lal and produced by Ashok Kumar. The key roles in the movie were played by Parikshit Sahani, Aruna Irani, Zarina Wahab and Pradeep Kumar while Romesh Sharma, Mithun Chakraborty, Dulari, Arun Govil, Jagdeep, Gajanan Jagirdar and Dheeraj Kumar were also there in the film. The music of the film was directed by Shyam Ghanshyam while the songs were sung by Asha Bhonsle, Vinod Sehgal, Suresh Wadkar and Lata Mangeshkar.

The movie Lal Chunariya was a usual action flick that had nothing much to offer. The story of the movie revolved mostly around a man named Kundan ( RomeshSharma ) who is a rich son of a wealthy father ( Gajanan Jagirdar ). Everything was fine with the father except the thing that his son was indulged in bad company and that mainly of his friend Ajit ( Dheeraj Kumar ) who not only gets him drunk but also takes him to brothels.

Gradually Kundan got habitual of visiting the brothel, he slowly started liking Gulabbai ( Aruna Irani ). He also wanted to marry her now and this was not liked by Ratnabai ( Chand Usmani ) who is the brothel manager. However Kundan also had a good admirer Rajesh ( Parikshit Sahani ) ho is his father’s employee as well but since he was a good person, he was always mocked down by Kundan. Rajesh meets with Kamini ( Zarina Wahab ), the only daughter of a very wealthy man, Shankerlal ( Pradeep Kumar ) and both eventually fall in love.
