The romantic movie Love And God was released on June 6, 1986. The movie was directed by K Asif and K C Bokadia while it was produced by Akhtar Asif. The key roles in the movie were enacted by Sanjeev Kumar, Pran, Nimmi and Jayant while Murad, Nasir Husain, Amjad Khan, Lalita Pawar, Agha, Simi Garewal, Nazima and Achla Sachdev were also there in the film. The music of the film was directed by Naushad Ali while the songs were sung by Manna Dey, Talat Mahmood, Lata Mangeshkar, Usha Mangeshkar and Mukesh.

The movie Love And God was a usual romantic film that was based on the romantic love story of Laila and Majnu. The only thing being that this movie shows them as inseparable childhood sweethearts, and subsequently as each others lovers. The biggest obstacle to their love was their fathers who are the biggest enemies of each other and does not want to see them together forget the topic of them getting married.

The movie takes a serious turn and the kids separated from each other mature with time. Majnu who is known as Kais ( Sanjeev Kumar ) roams the street now with beggars looking all over for his Laila ( Nimmi ). Their passion for each other grows when they both meet each other. The authorities find Laila and Majnu’s love for each other useless and order the people to throw stones at him. Kais’s father and mother fall at the feet of the parents of Laila asking for the marriage.
