Yesteryear hit bollywood family drama, Majal, directed by K Bapaiah was released on April 3, 1987. The movie starred Jeetendra and Sridevi in lead roles while Prem Chopra, Kadar Khan, Jaya Pradha and Sadashiv Amrapurkar also played important characters in the film. The hit melodious music of the movie was composed by the very famous music director Bappi Lahiri while the songs were beautifully sung by Kishore Kumar, Mohammed Aziz, Asha Bhonsle etc.

Young and handsome, Vijay ( Jeteendra ) was raised up by a guy named Chaudhary Kailashnath ( Kadar Khan ), who was a lawyer by profession. Vijay has a childhood sweetheart named Sadhana ( Sridevi ), who is the only daughter of none other than Kailashnath. Kailashnath is the mentor of Vijay and therefore he also decides to become a lawyer like him. Vijay completes his law studies. Meanwhile, Kailashnath learns about the love relationship of Vijay and Sadhana and arranges their marriage. Soon they both get married to each other.

But problem arises when Vijay decides to start a new life on his own. Sadhana and Kailashnath makes fun of him and humiliates him badly. Vijay gets enraged with this and leaves the house to prove to them that he is capable of starting a new life on his own. Vijay come across a beautiful girl named Sandhaya ( Jaya Pradha ). Sandhaya get attracted towards him and offers to get married to him. Vijay also decides to start his new life with her.
