Bollywood actress Manisha Koirala was born on August 16, 1970 in Kathmandu, Nepal. She started her acting career in bollywood with Subhash Ghai’s Saudagar in the year 1991. The movie proved out to be the biggest hit of the year. She once again gave splendid performance in Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s 1942: A Love Story. After that she gave some big flop movies as well to the audiences.

She earned her first Filmfare nomination for Best Actress award for her excellent performance in Akele Hum Akele Tum opposite Aamir Khan. Later she turned towards doing some meaningful cinema and did Agni Sakshi opposite Nana Patekar and Khamoshi : The Musical opposite Salman Khan. She also won her first Filmfare Best Actress ( Critics ) award for her extraordinary performance in Khamoshi. She once again get back to commercial cinema and gave an instant hit in the form of Gupt : The Hidden Truth. She was seen opposite Bobby Deol and Kajol in the movie.

After that she collaborated with Mani Ratnam and starred in Dil Se opposite Shahrukh Khan. The film did average business at the box offcie. However, her next film Mann did exceptionally well at the box office. But few of her next films failed to do well for her including Lajja, Company, Escape From Taliban, Paisa Vasool etc. She even did a meaningless movie Ek Chotti Si Love Story. However, she unwillingly became famous for the obscene posture picturised on her body double in the movie. She played a supporting role in his brother’s debut movie Anwar. Right now she is busy in Deepa Mehta’s forthecoming flick Exclusion.
