Bollywood musical romantic flick, Munimji, directed by Subodh Mukherjee was released in the year 1955. The movie starred Dev Anand and Ameeta in lead roles while Nalini Jayant, Prabhu Dayal, Pran, Nirupa Roy, Samar and Kanu Roy also played important characters in the film. The hit evergreen music of the movie was directed by the well known veteran music director Sachin Dev Burman while the songs were beautifully crooned by Kishore Kumar, Lata Mangeshkar, Hemanta Mukherjee and Geeta Dutt.

The movie starts with a beautiful girl named Roopa ( Nalini Jayant ), who lives a wealthy lifestyle alongwith her widowed father, Captain Suresh and her brother, Shekhar. Her father ask her to get married to a guy named Ratan ( Pran ), who is the son of his best friend. Roopa meets with young and handsome, Raj ( Dev Anand ) and instantly falls in love with him. Roopa refuse to get married with Ratan but soon realises her mistake when Raj in turn refuse to get married with her. Raj tells her that his mother has made him promise that he will never come in Ratan’s way anyhow.

Then a bandit named Kala Ghoda, who is the other name of terror in the region, asks Roopa’s father to pay a hefty sum of rupees. Police then comes into action and manage to capture Kala Ghoda red handed. Everyone get shocked to reveal that Kala Ghoda is none other than Roopa’s father’s Munim. But another shock comes to Roopa when it is learnt that Munimji is none other than Raj himself. What will happen now?
