The horror movie Purani Haveli was releasedon February 7, 1989. The movie was directed by Shyam Ramsay and Tulsi Ramsay while it was produced by Shyam Ramsay, Gangu Ramsay and Ramsay Kamal. The key roles in the movie were enacted by Deepak Parashar, Shobha, Amita Nangia and Tina while the roles of Preeti Sapru, Neelam Mehra, Satish Shah, Tej Sapru, Anil Dhawan and Shehzad Khan were also important. The music of the film was directed by Ajeet Singh while the songs were sung by Anuradha Paudwal and Suresh Wadkar.

The story of the horror movie Purani Haveli revolves mostly around a young and pretty girl named Anita Kumar who after the death of her parents lives with her paternal uncle, Kumar; his wife, Seema; and Seema’s brother, Vikram. The family business of her father has been overtaken by her. She uses the money from the business to buy an old mansion in the countryside area of the village from Rana. Anita is now of marriageable age and should get married soon.

Seema wanted Anita to marry her brother but the problem was that she has already started liking a guy named Sunil who is the owner of a photo studio and is from a poor background. This was not liked by Seema and her family thus they forbid Anita to meet Sunil. Kumars goes to the mansion to take its possession and unknowingly Anita’s friends Shobha and Anand also ask her to go there and invite Sunil. Nobody knew that the house had an evil spirit there.
