The comedy and social drama Pyar Ki Jeet was released in the year of 1987. The movie was directed and produced by Sawan Kumar Tak. The major roles in the movie were enacted by Shashi Kapoor, Rekha, Vinod Mehra and Jagdeep while the supporting roles were played by Ashok Kumar, Bharat Kapoor, Puneet Issar, Pinchoo Kapoor and Shashi Kiran. The music of the film was directed by Usha Khanna while the songs were sung by Asha Bhosle, Mohammed Rafi and Surinder Kaur.

The movie Pyar Ki Jeet was comedy cum social drama the story of which revolved mostly around Dr. Rehman ( Shashi Kapoor ). He is a true and good doctor whose prime aim in life is to save the lives of poor people than open a clinic in big city and make money from it. The twist in the story comes when a young girl named Soni ( Rekha ) who is an innocent village girl, gets abducted while she was getting married to Dharma ( Puneet Issar ).

Soni was kidnapped by the dacoits but somehow police managed to rescue her and bring her back to the family of the groom. Her life was made worse when the groom and his family refused to accept her. Dr. Anand ( Vinod Mehra ), son of Dr. Kumar ( Ashok Kumar ) was practicing under the observation of Dr. Rehman and helped him when he required him the most. Soni falls in love with Dr. Anand, but Dr. Anand has strong reservations against her all because of her background.
