The movie Rang Rasiya / Colors of Passion is under production and is going to release on 26th September, 2008 under the banner of Maya Movies. The movie is being directed by Ketan Mehta and produced by Deepa Sahi and Anand Mahendroo. The top roles in the movie are being played by Randeep Hooda, Paresh Rawal, Nandana Sen and Deepti Naval whereas the roles of Aashish Vidyarthi, Darshan Jariwala and Sachin Khedekar were also important.

The movie Rang Rasiya / Colors of Passion is directed by the famous and also an award winning director Ketan Mehta who have made the film on the real life story of India’s pioneer painter Raja Ravi Varma. The famous painter Raja Ravi Varma was born in Kerala in the year 1848. He decided to be a painter but was criticized by the people of social groups for not adapting the regional painting traditions. Some of his famous work was his paintings that reduced godly creatures to common man. Raja Ravi Varma got married to Rani Bhageerathi Bayi and had three sons and two daughters.

The story of the movie is based on Raja Ravi Varma’s ( Randeep Hooda ) relations with his muse Sugandha ( Nandana Sen ). The passion prevailing in the paintings of Raja Ravi Varma is the theme on which the movie is based. The story takes a turn when Raja Ravi Varma gets arrested for the charge of painting the immoral and nude paintings Indian mythological characters and thereby hurting the sentiments of the people. He meets Sugandha at a temple and she matches the imagination of the beauty that Raja Ravi Varma has in his mind. For all the work done by him, the price was paid by her.
