Roti Ki Keemat was an action movie released in the year of 1990. The movie was directed by Ramesh Ahuja and produced by Suresh Grover. The major roles in the movie were played by Mithun Chakraborty, Madhuri Dixit, Kimi Katkar and Pran while the roles of Sadashiv Amrapurkar, Jagdeesh Raj, Gulshan Grover, Puneet Issar and Viju Khote were equally important. The music of the film was directed by Laxmikant Kudalkar and Pyarelal while the songs were sung by Amit Kumar, Alka Yagnik and Mohammad Aziz.

Roti Ki Keemat was an action cum social movie as can be guessed from its title. The story of the movie revolves mostly around an innocent and generous man named Shankar ( Mithun Chakraborty ) living in a village. He is a kind and a generous man who wanted to help anyone and everyone who are in need of food or are less fortunate. Whether it is possible for him to help or not, he will try his best to help the person with his full efforts.

The reason why Shankar was doing this was that his own mother died after giving her blood so that she could get food for them. Thus Shankar made his life plan to help those in the same situation he was in with his mother. Shankar befriends with Bijlee ( Kimi Katkar ) who is an orphan girl and both set up a place where children can go for food and shelter. The twist in the story comes when an evil Jagavar Chaudhry ( Sadashiv Amrapurkar ) comes to shatter their happiness.
