Sherni was an action movie that was released on May 13, 1988. The movie was directed by Harmesh Malhotra and produced by Pawan Kumar. The actors in the lead roles were Sridevi, Pran, Shatrughan Sinha and Kader Khan while Ranjeet, Jagdeep, Tej Sapru, Lalita Pawar, Sudhir, Birbal and Ram Mohan were also there in the film.

Sherni was an action film as it can be easily guessed from its title. The movie revolved mostly around the female lead of the film Sridevi. The story of the movie was bit different but was not able to do much business in Bollywood, though its release was noticed properly. As stated earlier, the story of the movie revolves mostly around a young and lovely girl named Durga ( Sridevi ) who lives a peaceful life with her father in the village.

Durga and her father were living happily until one day, he gets into the bad books of Thakur Dharampal Singh ( Kader Khan ), and this was the day he was severely beaten by the members of Thakur. He joins a band of robbers and takes revenge against the Thakur, who in turn, kills his family. Durga was helpless but couldn’t do anything as police was also keeping out of the case. She had no option but to join her father’s forces. She became a robber herself and soon one of the Indian police’s most wanted criminals.
