Sun Sajna was a romantic family drama released in the year of 1982 under the banner of Rajshri Productions Pvt Ltd. The movie was directed by Chander Behl and produced by Tarachand Barjatya. The major roles in the movie were played by Mithun Chakraborty, Ram Mohan, Ranjeeta and Iftekhar while the roles of Kishore Kumar, Bhagwan, Shail Chaturvedi, Arpana Choudhary and Dinesh Hingoo were equally important. The music of the film was directed by Ram Lakshman while the songs were sung by Sapan Chakravarty, Usha Mangeshkar, Dilraj Kaur, Bhupinder Singh, Anuradha Paudwal and K J Yesudas.

Sun Sajna was a romantic cum family film that showcased the beautiful locations of the scenic and mountaineous town Madhopur. The story of the movie revolved mostly around a young and beautiful girl named Basanti ( Ranjeeta ) who runs her own business of selling dolls with her aged father with the name Basanti’s Shop. The movie takes a turn when one day she comes across a young man named Raj Kumar ( Mithun Chakraborty ) who is professionally a singer.

Raj Kumar came to the town to perform at the nearby hotel named Hotel Tin Min and both Raj and Basanti fell in love with each other. Both now wanted to marry each other but before this could happen he was required to go to Bombay to perform at a show and also bring along his mother so that he can make her meet Basanti. But Raj never returned to her and this made a close friend Gopi ( Kishore Kumar ) to visit Bombay and find Raj.
