The movie Tahaan is under production and is going to release on September 5, 2008 uner the banner of iDream Productions. The movie is directed by Santosh Sivan and features Purav Bhandare, Anupam Kher, Rahul Bose and Sarika in the lead roles. The other important roles were played by Victor Banerjee, Sana Shaikh and Rahul Khanna. The music of the film is directed by Adnan Sami and Taufique Qureshi and the songs are sung by Adnan Sami, Gulzar Ganai, Ritesh Menon and Sumedha Karmahe.

Tahaan is a social film, the story of which revolves around Tahaan ( Purav Bhandare ). Tahaan is a 8 year old kid and likes to spend his time with his sheeps and his dearest friend Birbal which is a donkey under the shades of the sky. Subhan ( Anupam Kher ) is an old guy in fifties and have come across several hard times. He likes sharing his life experiences and stories with Tahaan. Haba ( Saarika ) plays the mother of Tahaan and is a religious lady waiting for her husband to return someday. Zafar ( Rahul Bose ) is Subhan’s helper and has no big ambitions and dreams. He keeps falling in love with a beautiful lady he sees.

Tahaan is a story of a 8 year old boy named Tahaan who kept wondering what is the actual purpose of humans in the world. Tahaan lives with his grand father, mother Haba and sister Zoya ( Sana Shaikh ) in Kashmir. His father kept missing for over three years now and after the death of his grand father there was no one to pay the pending loans. Kuka ( Rahul Khanna ) decided to take their valuables from their house and their donkey named Birbal against the payment of the loan. Now it is the story of Tahaan about he get back his donkey.
