Tamacha was an action movie released on March 26, 1988. The movie was directed by Ramesh Ahuja and produced by Prasan Kapoor. The actors in the lead roles of the movie were Jeetendra, Rajinikanth, Amrita Singh and Kimi Katkar while Bhanu Priya, Sumeet Sehgal, Iftekhar, Sudhir, Neelu Phule and Asarani were also there in the film. The music of the film was directed by Bappi Lahiri while the songs were sung by Asha Bhosle, Shailendra Singh and Mohammad Aziz.

As guessed from the name of the movie, Tamacha was an action flick that revolved mostly around Raju ( Jeetendra ) and Vicky ( Rajinikanth ) who are childhood friends. Both are so close that they studied in the same school, spent time together always, and participated in the same sport in which they excelled together. Both are also good in studies, in short what they did, they did it together. Their life had been going on very smooth until one day when their summer holiday began.

When the two month summer vacation begins, it results in tragedy for both of them. While Raju’s father loses his eyesight, Vicky’s mother passes away after giving birth to a baby boy. This was not all; his father was running away from police as he was charged with murder. Years later when both mature, Raju was now known as Inspector Rajiv and Vicky has become a notorious gangster called Vikram Pratap Singh. Both being on the opposite of law wanted to kill each other.
