Bollywood crime action thriller, Taqat, directed by Talat jani was released on June 23, 1995. The movie starred Dharmendra and Kajol in lead roles while Shatrughan Sinha, Raju Shrestha, Dinesh Hingoo, Deep Dhillon, Shekhar, Farha Naaz, Vikas Bhalla, Kadar Khan, Aashif Sheikh and Dinesh Hingoo also played important characters in the film. The melodious music of the movie was directed by the well known music director duo Anand Milind while the songs were rendered by Kumar sanu, Udit Narayan, Sadhana Sargam, Poornima etc.

Shakti Singh ( Dharmendra ) and Anand ( Shatrughan Sinha ) are two criminals, who always gets into fight with each other. Shakti’s younger brother, Akhlak ( Vikas Bhalla ) is toallt different in nature from him. Akhlak wants to be away from his brother’s criminal activities. Akhlak meets with a beautiful girl named Kavita ( Kajol ) and falls in love with her. But little does he knows is that Kavita is the younger sisiter of none other than Anand. But Shakti and Anand are being exploited by two greedy politicians for their selfish motives.

Later Shakti and Anand reveals about the conspiracy of the politicians and decides to stand againts him collectively. But they are brutally attacked by some goons which lends them to the hospital beds. There they reveals about Akhlak and Kavita’s love relationship and decides to forget about their rivalry.
