The comedy movie Tumhare Liye was released in the year of 1978. The movie was directed by Basu Chatterjee and produced by Raj Tilak. The major roles in the movie were played by Ashok Kumar, Vidya Sinha, Sanjeev Kumar and Neelam Mehra while the supporting roles were played by Indirani, Anita Guha, Suresh Chatwal, A K Hangal and Dinesh Hingoo. The music of the film was directed by Jaidev while the songs were sung by Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhosle.

The comic movie Tumhare Liye was a good movie that revolved mostly around a couple of Gauri ( Vidya Sinha ) and Prakash ( Sanjeev Kumar ) who liked each other a lot and so much that both got intimate. The movie takes a turn when Prakash was asked to marry a girl named Renuka ( Neelam Mehra ) as she got the approval of his family. Gauri’s life also takes a turn when she gets pregnant and fell ill due to this. She was thus hospitalized to get treated.

It is here that the story of her past comes up in which Gangadhar Upadhyay and Gauri were lovers. During this previous birth too, Gauri gets pregnant, gets ill, and passes away, because of Kalavati’s interference. The child was also not able to live and due to this fact Gangadhar also gets killed in that birth. But in this life Prakash can survive only when someone who loves him sacrifices his life for him and that person is not Gauri.
