Bollywood mystery flick, Uljhan, directed by Raghunath Jhalani was released in the year 1975. The movie starred Sanjeev Kumar and Sulakshana Pandit in lead roles while Shivraj, Urmila Bhatt, Yunus Parvez, Ranjeet, Aruna Irani, Ashok Kumar and Farida Jalal also played important characters in the film. The hit evergreen music of the movie was directed by none other than well knwon veteran music director duo Kalyanji-Anandji while the songs were beautifully crooned by Kishore Kumar, Lata Mangeshkar, Kanchan and Sulakshana Pandit herself.

The movie starts with a murder which is been performed by Karuna ( Sulakshana Pandit ) for protecting her friend’s life. Actuallly a guy named Brij ( Ranjeet ) was blackmailing her friend, Kamla ( Farida Jalal ) and when she goes to meet him, he tried to misbehave with her as well. As a result of an argument ensued between Karuna and Brij, Brij is murdered by Karuna. The same night, she get married to Anand ( Sanjeev Kumar ), who is a police inspector by profession. Unfortunately the murder case is assigned to Anand.

Anand used to discuss about the case with Karuna which helps her to keep herself safe from law. But soon Anand starts suspecting Karuna and he sia noticing a change in the behaviour of Karuna. Soon he relaises that Karuna is the real killer. But he is short of evidence against her. Anand is determined to get her arrested at any cost but for this he will be facing the opposition of his own family.
