Former bollywood actor, Vinod Khanna, was born on October 6, 1946 in Peshawar, British India. He made his debut in bollywood industry with 1968 released Man Ka Meet. However he played a negative character in the movie but his work was equally appreciated by the people. His first hit film came in the form of 1971 released Mere Apne.

Later he gave many superhit movies alongwith Amitabh Bachchan in the form of Parvarish, Amar Akbar Anthony, Muqaddar Ka Sikandar etc. He gave a strong competition to Amitabh Bachchan for the position of No. 1 bollywood actor. His next multistarrer film The Burning Train proved out to be a huge hit at that time. He was accompanied by two other actor Dharmendra and Jeetendra in the film.

He took a small berak from film after working in the hit movie Qurbani. He rejoined the industry after a gap of eight years and appeared in several notable films such as Dayavan, Chandni, Eena Meena Deeka etc. After that he also produced a movie Himalayputra in which he launched his son Akshay Khanna. However the movie failed to do well at the box office. Vinod Khanna is currently acting in a Hindi serial Mere Apne airing on the channel 9X.
