Waqt Ki Awaaz was a musical family drama released on July 1, 1988. The movie was directed by K Bapaiah and produced by T Trivikarma Rao. The main roles in the movie wee played by Mithun Chakraborty, Moushmi Chatterjee, Sridevi and Aruna Irani while Kader Khan, Gulshan Grover, Shakti Kapoor and Asrani were also there in the film. The music of the film was directed by Bappi Lahiri while the songs were sung by Kishore Kumar, Asha Bhosle, Alisha Chinoy and Mohammad Aziz.

It would be bit difficult to guess the genre of the film from its title Waqt Ki Awaaz, that happens to be a social and family drama. The movie was directed by K Bapaiah who has directed many movies like Kasak, Ghar Sansar and Ghar Ek Mandir; his debut film being Dildaar released in 1977. He has also acted in the movie Pyar Hua Chori Chori released in 1991 and featuring Mithun Chakraborty and Gautami in the lead roles. But for the producer T Trivikarma Rao, it was his first movie as the producer.

The male lead in the film was played by Mithun Chakraborty. He debuted with the movie titled Mrigaya released in 1976. He has done many hit movies throughout his career. The female lead in the film was played by Sridevi who has given many hit movie like Mr India, Patthar Ke Insaan, ChandramukhI and Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja among the rest, while her first movie was Jaise Ko Taisa released in 1973. The other female lead in the movie was played by Moushmi Chatterjee.
